Killers of the Flower Moon star Lily Gladstone has made no secret of her love for Star Wars, particularly the Ewoks from Return of the Jedi. The Golden Globe winner (and Oscar contender) instructed the New York Times she had a “sturdy need to be an Ewok at age 5”—that’s how deep the love is.
Gladstone’s lovable nerdiness has emerged in different awards-season interviews, too. In a roundtable with fellow Greatest Actress contenders hosted by the Hollywood Reporter, she cited Ewoks as one among her first performing position fashions; they have been her “childhood inspirations, I wished to be an Ewok, and that’s what began all this insanity.” That’s the cutest factor ever, to be trustworthy, and we love this origin story for an unbelievable expertise we’d prefer to see working in style sooner or later.
Ewoks acquired one more nod in Gladstone’s interview with Rolling Stone. “I used to be solely into Star Wars as a result of I used to be into the Ewoks,” she instructed the journal. “I didn’t know this then, however they’re such a beacon of Indigenous resistance.
