Dave the Diver is coming to PS5 and PS4. The 2023 breakout hit received Indie Sport of the 12 months at The Sport Awards — stretching the definition of “indie” — and was included in Engadget’s Best Games of 2023. It arrives on Sony’s consoles in April, and a Godzilla crossover DLC (positive, why not!) follows it in Might.
The sport has you exploring an unlimited underwater world stuffed with mysteries through the day, and helming a sushi restaurant at evening. As Engadget’s Lawrence Bonk wrote, “The daytime adventures are kind of like an underwater Metroidvania whereas the nighttime restaurant administration is a mixture of a Kairosoft sim and the arcade basic Tapper.” It doesn’t sound like it might work, however it does.
Dave the Diver launched on PC in June and arrived on Swap in late October.
Sony touts the sport’s DualSense help. “The controller’s haptics provide the reasonable feeling of a hooked fish tugging the road,” the corporate wrote in an announcement weblog submit. “The adaptive triggers reply in a different way relying on which weapon you’re utilizing, making the fight and fishing expertise much more immersive.”
As for the Godzilla DLC, we don’t know a lot but apart from it’ll introduce “much more monumental threats lurking within the depths” as you “put together to fulfill the King of the Monsters within the Blue Gap.”
